This season 12 premier episode profiles the senseless, brutal murder of 41-year-old Associate Pastor Latrina Ashburne, who was shot and killed on May 27, 2016, in the 2900 block of Rosalind Avenue. 31-year-old Davon Carter and 39-year-old Clifton Mosley were later found guilty of one count each of witness retaliation murder, witness tampering, and two counts of conspiracy to murder a witness.

This episode also profiles the unsolved homicide of nineteen- year-old Charles Turgot Jones, who was found murdered in a shallow grave on Maryland Route 648, near Mountain Road in Pasadena on November 10, 1978.
